How to Keep Your Nose Clean on Ebay:

1. Usually, ebay picks on newer sellers far more than the ones with lots of sales history, so you have to be more careful as a newer seller.

2. First huge thing to avoid is underpricing.. I know that those on the VeRO accounts are mainly "Branding specialists" or someone else (from the name brand company who makes the product).. Basically, all the care about is the bottom line (their profits in stores). Its not about right and wrong.. So, they cancel under priced items, because it takes away from their brick and mortar (regular store) sales.. They are concerned mainly with branding, stopping counterfeit and keeping sales in regular stores (higher perceived price means more chain store sales)..

So, if you price at premium prices, you greatly reduce any possibility of your auction being canceled.

3. Your own personal photos (or ones you got from some place online that is from a personal camera). in other words, no professional or generic photos of the item.. This is one technicality that some VeRO account holders will go after to cancel an auction.. This is about as big as the price factor.. So, if you have your own unique photos, or ones that are not common professional ones, you greatly reduce any possibility of your auction being canceled.

4. List only one of any certain type of item at a time.. Do not list 5 of a certain particular model of cell phones.. or 5 same model headphones.. or 5 same model anything (UNLESS you have them all in ONE auction - dutch auction of multiple items available. But in multiple auctions, no. Yet, even the dutch auction could be a little risky on a new account.).. They will just assume bad and cancel your auctions.. NOW, if you had a lot of feedback, you could list 5 or 10 of the same model of an item and they would not care.. But as a new seller, they just assume bad and cancel auctions when they see someone who is new selling 5 of a certain model of item..

So put up a variety of items.. and only a few at first.. Then build and add more slowly over time..

5. Do not relist the specific model item that was canceled on your recently.. (wait a bit before listing and then follow the above rules).. Because, the point is to get away from the hot potato for a bit and come back to it later, and do it right (following the above rules) the second time around..

You can just list other items, and follow the above tricks and techniques..

This is based on actual sales history and experience.. My sellers tell me the above works to get past that "auction cancel" garbage..

Here are some good tips for listing on Ebay:

1. List in more than one category.. try to find a couple good categories for each item.. and then randomize which categories you put in..

2. Try to stagger the listings per day.. You can "schedule" listings on Ebay.. It should be near where you put in the price when creating the auction.

3. Use various keywords in the title you think people will search to find your type of item you are selling.. This can bring in new buyers..
