She has worked extensively with boards and board committees in Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, the United States, and Venezuela. For the past seven years, she has been active in researching and advising on matters relating to board-level governance. She was the project manager and principal author for Audit Committee Effectiveness — What Works Best, 2nd Edition, and its companion report, Corporate Governance and the Board — What Works Best, both of which were released in 2000. She helped design the inaugural program of the PricewaterhouseCoopers–University of Delaware Directors’ College, exclusive to directors of large multinational corporations. She also develops many publications for audit committees and boards, including PricewaterhouseCoopers’ annual Current Developments for Audit Committees. Ms. Bromilow speaks frequently about leading corporate governance practices at conferences and seminars, and has lectured at the university level. She is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in New Jersey), a Chartered Accountant from Canada, and holds both Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Arts (Honours Chartered Accountancy Studies) degrees from the University of Waterloo. Barbara L. Berlin, CPA, is a senior manager with the Corporate Governance Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She is active in supporting PricewaterhouseCoopers partners as they address governance and audit committee issues by advising on leading practices. Ms. Berlin is deeply involved in director education initiatives, having principal responsibility for the annual PricewaterhouseCoopers–University of Delaware Directors’ College, exclusive to directors of large multinational corporations. She develops the associated annual publication, Boardroom Exchange, as well as contributing to other publications geared toward directors and audit committee members. During her 11-year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Berlin has managed audit engagements for multinational companies, and leveraged that experience to drive various national and global PricewaterhouseCoopers initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of the audit and the value it provides to clients and shareholders. She was a lead project manager on the develop mentand implementation of the PricewaterhouseCoopers audit methodology. Ms. Berlin speaks at conferences and seminars on corporate governance.
