THE SUPER ACCUMULATOR

It is generally thought that multiple bets such as doubles, trebles and accumulators can only be made using one bet and one betting slip. Betting in multiples this way is very acceptable to the bookmakers because if just one of your selection loses then the whole bet is lost.

However there is an alternative when combining horses or dogs in multiple bets which is benificial to the backer rather than the layer: and that is to bet in singles (one horse at a time) and split your returns to play up on several other selections, thus increasing your chances of winning.

Let's say you had $20 (tax paid) to win a horse priced at 2/1. The horse wins and your total returns are $60. You now split the returns into 3 bets on three other horses. If you are backing favorites, one of these 3 bets is likely to be a winner. Sometimes 2 out of 3 will win, and occasionally all 3 will win. You now take your total returns and split them again for your next bet on 3 different horses.

The indervidual punter must decide whether to stop after 3, 4, 0r 5 winners. A good suggestion would be to start the bet with a set goal of say $200 if you are starting with $20. As soon as you have reached your goal you stop the bet and begin again with $20. Whatever happens, even when you get into big stakes, you are only playing with the bookmakers money. Even when the bet breaks down, as it will quite often, you will only be back to square one, minus a tenner. But when these accumulators pay off, which they do with surprising frequency, you will have some very big paydays.

A variation on this theme is to split your returns into just two bets each time instead of three. The attempted accumulator will break down more often this way but your returns will come quicker and could be much larger.

Yet another variation is to play up your returns from the banker (the first bet) onto 2 or 3 horses in the same race. This will give you more winning multiples but the returns will usually be smaller. GABRIEL MARCEL

This system is for use in the betting shop or with the help of Oracle or Ceefax racing. If operating the system at home you will obviously need a telephone and debit card betting.

Check with the morning papers starting price forecasts and watch for any horse listed as odds against that moves to odds on. Do not accept any price shorter than 6/4 on.

There are usually very good reasons for a horse's SP shortening by several points. Time and time again it has been observed that a horse whose price has shortened by two or three points has gone on to win. If the bookmakers are running scared, you can be sure that there is a reason for it.

Any horse that contracts from the opening show by the number of points shown below qualifies for a bet.

             Opening show Points
                 4/1 & under 1 point
                 5/1 2 points
                 6/1 2 points
                 7/1 3 points
                 8/1 3 points
                 9/1 4 points
               10/1 4 points
               11/1 & more 6 points

Following this system may only result in one or two bets a week, but the strike rate is around 80%. Therefore, large amounts of money can obviously be made by the shrewd and patient backer.

THE ESCAPE PLAN

This method is based on the Yankee - 4 selections covering 11 bets: 6 doubles, 4 trebles and an accumulator. Selections for Yankees and other multiple bets are usually chosen for the samr day and placed all in one bet. However, this limits the backer to choosing four selections on a day when perhaps there are only one or two value bets to be had. It makes sense to spread the Yankee out over several days or even weeks enabling you to be very selective when choosing your horses or greyhounds. Also, the way this particular plan is worked out it minimises your losses and increases your profits as you will see.

The selections are A.B.C. and D. 7 points are bet on A to cover doubles AB, AC, AD, trebles ABC, ABD, ACD and accumulator ABCD - 7 one point bets.

If selection A wins, the returns plus 3 extra points are invested on B. The 3 points cover doubles BC, BD, and treble BCD. If selection B wins then the returns minus the double returned for AB are invested on C along with one extra point to cover double CD.

If selection C wins, the returns minus the returns for doubles AC, BC and treble ABC are invested onto D. The summary is as follows:

  1. 7 points bet on A (AB, AC, AD, ABC, ABCD covered).
  2. If A wins returns plus 3 points bet on B (BC, BD, BCD covered).
  3. If B wins returns plus 1 point minus returns for double AB are bet on C (CD is covered).
  4. If C wins returns minus returns on AC, BC, and ABC are invested on D.

THE SUPREME GREYHOUND SYSTEM

The key to this system is not the combination that wins most but the one which misses the least. The one that wins most is traps 1 & 2. Look at the table below. Out of approximately 70 days 5-6 or 6-5 forcast was absent only five times. The "A"represents when that particular combination was absent on one day.

1-2 AAAAAAAAAAAAA
1-3 AAAAAAAAAAAA
1-4 AAAAAAAAAAAA
1-5 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
1-6 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
2-3 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
2-4 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
2-5 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
2-6 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
3-4 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
3-5 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
3-6 AAAAAAAAA
4-5 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
4-6 AAAAAAAAA
5-6 AAAAA

The conclusions are obvious: you'd have to be a raving lunatic to back 1-5 reverse forcast. Forecast 6-5 reversed comes in virtually every day. Is it a phenomenon? Not really. It's to do with the shape of the tracks and troubles at bends. If the races were run in straight lines the system wouldn't work.

Dilution: you can dilute the system to suit yourself. It can be applied using the staking plan . On the wall of the betting shop you will find the greyhound section of the Sporting Life. For that days racing there is usually a chart showing the incidences of all the combinations for forcasts at that day's track or tracks. For example the chart may tell you that traps 5-6 have come up 60 times this year in that order. Take that figure and add it to the figure for the other way around, 6-5. Do the same for all the other traps and keep a note of the tracks which are favorable to 5-6 reversed. It still comes up even on the unfavorable ones. Remember, it's not the frequency.

Here is one for Romford:

1-2 193 1-6 180 2-6 148 4-5 143
1-3 164 2-3 113 3-4 144 4-6 155
1-4 115 2-4 118 3-5 103 5-6 206
1-5 115 2-5 117 3-6 151

In the newspaper you will see after the result of each race a sum of money i.e. res 5-6 $40.78. That sum is the odds for the forecast - 19.78/1. Generally speaking there are 24 greyhound races each afternoon. Typically there may be 8 races with 8 dogs in it. Ignore these races altogether. Bet only in races with 6 runners. Here's the staking plan used for sixteen races.

The first column is the increasing stake for each race. The second column is the amount bet so far. Simply subtract that figure from the amount you win to arrive at your profit.

THE POOLS MASTER PLAN

Millions of pools entries are made every week, the most popular entries used are 8 from 10, 8 from 11, and 8 from 12. It is difficult to select 8 score draws from all the matches on the coupon. Multiple full perms to try and cover more matches are not practical due to the costs involved.

This plan enables you to cover 55 matches by placing 5 X's in each of 11 columns.

You can place your X's anywhere in the column, but do not put an X against the same match twice. When you fill in the coupon be sure to use the columns to the right of the team names and not the ABCDEF section.

Only 3 matches are not covered, use sure home wins for these 3 matches or void games etc.

The entry instructions on your coupon should read: "Perm any 2 columns of 5 selection from 11 columns to produce 55 columns of 10 selection then perm any 8 from 10. 1375 lines at..........."

Insert the cost which is $2.53 on Zetters, $12.25 on Vernons and $36.29 on Littlewoods.

When checking your coupon the best 4 out of 5 in any two columns is your best line. If you get 4 score draws in any column then any 4 selections in any other column can be used to complete the line.
