Are you Interested in Generating Some Extra Cash?

Hi Ryan,

I am looking at the auction right now.  There is some potential from a niche perspective, but I would definitely change the approach to advertising it and the title, etc..

So, it has potential, but I think what he is offering seems to be marketed wrongly.

Also, I am not totally sure you can copyright your name..  He says you can, but one of the requirements for copyrighting something is that there needs to be a significant amount of original content required for something to be copyrighted.

Maybe he means "trademark"?   You could trademark a name.  Many businesses "trademark" their names.

Copyright is for books, articles, small writings, etc..  Technically, this email I am sending you is copyrighted, per US Law, as the law was changed a handful of years back where it states that an item is copyrighted upon creation.  But it has little legal backing if you do not "register" with the copyright office.

So, I think maybe the "trademark" angle is more appropriate than the "copyright" angle.

HOW DO I KNOW SOME OF THIS?

I have been dealing with copyright for the last 6 years, because I have software with books on it and I have to make sure it is legal before I sell it.  So, I know much more than the average joe about copyright law..

COPYRIGHT / TRADEMARK YOUR PERSONAL INFO :

Sincerely
Tony

Hey Anthony,
I haven't emailed you in awhile, my transaction ID was 1D5525083U1228033 for
paypal.
I found a good product to sell, but I need some advice on how to go about
it. I put a link up at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280018413712 but I have
not had any hits yet. The product is genius in my mind, but I would like
your advice on how to go about selling it better. I think it is a good
niche though. Thanks,
Ryan

O'REILLY: All right, Lis ... I sell bibles in Tarzana, CA. Lenny comes in, & he's got a ... beard. He's wearing a dress ... I have to hire him?
LIS WIEHL: You can't not hire Lenny.
O'REILLY: Yes, but ... Don't you see my business point here? ... the state of Calif .. is forcing me to hire people that may be detrimental to my business.
LIS WIEHL: appearance shouldn't matter. When you're selling bibles.
O'REILLY: Ms. Rivers, you understand ... better than Lis because she went to Harvard Law School, and that disqualifies her from common sense.
