Hi Brian,

First, lets discuss your hitch covers.

I am looking at your auction and what I would do is have a separate shipping cost for USA and Other Countries.

I would add a couple bucks to the shipping cost in the USA or, a better trick is force shipping insurance and make it $2, along with increasing shipping costs..

For example:

$6.95 Shipping in USA + $1.35 optional/required insurance.
Or maybe $5.95 Shipping in USA + $1.95 required insurance.

And then for outside USA, $8.95 S&H + $1.35 optional/required insurance.
Or maybe $7.95 + $1.95 required insurance.

ALSO, $9.95 is a good price..  It sounds like much less than $12.95..  Consider the physchology in the mind of the customer, like this, to tweak prices, etc..

EBOOKS:

You will not have to sell ebooks for a $1.99 if you use my methodology..

Rather, I will teach you the ultimate way to sell ebooks..

I have been using this method for information products for about 5 years now..  I have done it since the beginning and have perfected it..

I have done it mainly with software and printed information products, but it works the EXACT same with digital information products..

Here is an example of one of my products that I sell in this manner:

The above link shows the history of my 150" TV Projector kit sales for the last two weeks approximately.

Notice, they are all category featured.  This costs about $20 bucks.

Notice they all are dutch auctions.  Notice the slight difference in sales pitch and titles on each and also the variety of categories.

Basically, I started with one auction, did some test runs at the top of the page, got it to where I was selling 8 or more on the auction, and started a new auction, in a different category for the same product. Then, I continued to branch off with new titles and new categories and even started selling in other countries on ebay (ebay.ca, ebay.com.au, ebay.co.uk).

So, now I have 10 auctions up, all of them selling about 8+ items per auction at $15 each.  Thats about $120+ per auction.  My costs are about $30 + $3.28 per item, or in the case of 8 sales, $54 total costs.  So, I make $120 - $54 = $66 minimum per auction.

Of course, if I have a really good auction, where I sell 16, which happens often, I make $240.  The costs are $30 + $3.28 per item, or in the case of 16 sales, $83 total.  So, $240 - $83 = $157 profit.

NOW, I have 10 of these auctions up at a time and they are usually up about 7 days..  So, everyday, I have about 1.3 auctions ending..  If I sell say 9 average, that is 12 sales per day or $180 in sales.  And, the cost would be about $30 x 1.3 + $3.28 x 12 = $77 in costs..  Or, about $103 profit a day..

I built this starting with one auction and when I had it going good, I started another in another category, and when that was going good, I continued on..  At one time, I had 14 of these going at once, but now, I have cut out the weak ones and just have 10 solid auctions..

THE VERY SAME THING CAN BE DONE WITH A SOLID EBOOK, IF MARKETED WELL.

I have made about $75,000 profit selling this ONE product over the last 3 years..  About $150,000 to $200,000 in sales..

One INFO product made me that much money, because of how I marketed it..

Its not the product either, its MAINLY the techique I discuss here..  It is a compact list, so if you need help on many steps, just ask.  I can explain how to do every step in detail:

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON TAKING ANY INFORMATION PRODUCT TO MAKING KILLER PROFIT:

1. Basically, you make an ad description for the eBook.  I generally find those who are selling a similar eBook and are making the most money out of all those selling that particular topic of ebook.  I do this at a link like this:

I analyze those who are selling this type of eBook and find the seller making the most money..  I believe I already showed you who this was (hawaiian guy), but there are also many other good examples..  See the link above and do the research a bit..

2. Then, you make your ad in a very similar manner taking the good attributes from the top ads that sell already on eBay..  Think about what of the attributes would seem most appealing to your customers..

3. You make titles that are similar to the titles of the top sellers.. Make sure to get in the relevant keywords..

4. Next, you put up an auction in a normal manner..  NOT at the top of the page..  Just a normal auction or buy it now..  Costs maybe $1+.

5. Put up a few auctions like this..  Its a bit slow at this stage, but look at it as perfecting your ad.  All you want to do is make sure you can sell on 40% of the auctions..  If you can do this, then your ad and title is solid.  Make sure the price is solid, like $7.95 or $9.95.

6. THEN, after you have gotten some sales, confirmed it sells 40% of the time, THEN, you can put it up at the top of the page in Featured manner.  This will make the process less expensive, as you did your testing on the slower, lower priced regular auctions..

7. NOW you are doing some testing at the featured level.  It might already preform good as you tested at the lower levels, but this is a different way to sell, so you might have to do some testing to make sure you are getting the sales..  At the top of the page you will want to be doing dutch auctions and trying to sell 8 or more per auction..

8. ONCE you have proof it is selling 8 or more and going good, THEN, you branch out into other categories, using other titles, and putting the auctions on different days.  This capitalizes the area on eBay so you can max out what you make..

This is where you are at a level where you can make $50 bucks a day..

Takes a while, but I already have several products at this level.   Make take even two months to do all of this, BUT IN THE END, it is worth it.

Why is it worth it?

Do the math..  $50 a day x 3 years.. Thats $50,000..  I think testing and patience is worth $50,000.

I have made that much off some of my auctions like this.. I have probably made $150,000 to $200,000 in sales off the TV Projector info kit I sell.  It followed the same pattern in selling..

Sincerely
Tony

HI,  not sure what to call you... Erin, Anthony or Tony...
Well, here is the quick rundown on me and my online background you asked for...
Remember I am the guy from Canada so I am limited to what I sell as my U.S. customers will have to pay duty ... not to mention I will pay a duty if I buy it from someone in the U.S. also.
I do have a wack of "hitch covers" here that I would like to sell via an Ebay store.  I have over 400 pieces.  See an example on Ebay similar to what I have  http://cgi.ebay.com/NEBRASKA-HUSKERS-2-TRAILER-TRUCK-HITCH-COVER-NEW_W0QQitemZ200018199557QQihZ010QQcategoryZ24593QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
After I am done selling those off I would like to sell digital items, simply because, as I stated before, I am limited.   I just don't think a ton of money can be made selling ebooks for 1.99.  I would probably like to get into buying and selling domains and websites/hosting, etc...
DO you have any other ideas for me?  and would you suggest I sell one type of product at a time in my Ebay store... or do you think its ok to sell hitch covers and ebooks at the same time?
By the way, I bought an Ebay account with over 7000 feedbacks so this should help me get a good start.  Many repeat customers before so the feedback score is only 3600 with 98% positive feedback but for  $1000 I think I got a decent deal.  I've seen less feedback sell for much more.

Hi Brian,

Here is some really good information on small electronics and accessories..

This is for that situation where you want to make some quick money, yet don't have a ton of money to work with and don't have tons of experience.

This is not for everyone, but is often where people are at when they come to me.  Broke, no experience, want to make quick money on ebay.

Of course, others, already have some experience selling on ebay and the below might already be partially known.  All depends on the person..

If you are looking to do warehouse sized business on ebay (tons o sales of name brand items), the approach is way different.  So, the below is just for the one type of scenerio and there are many other ways to approach selling on ebay..

HOW TO BUY AND THEN SELL SMALL ELECTRONICS AND ACCESSORIES:

Examples: Phones, PDAs, pocket pcs, and other small devices..

You can buy them in lots on eBay..

Of course, not every lot on ebay is worth your time..  But, generally, there is atleast one or two good deals ending daily..

The best PDA deal I EVER had was for 50 Blackberry 6710 phones..  I only paid $500 bucks total.  I sell them for about $37 to $42 each.  So, if you add it up, I make almost $2000 in the end after selling them all..

Thats about $1500 profit in the end..  I paid about $10 bucks per phone and sell them for about $38 average..  $28 profit on each sale..  This is not counting the shipping costs, which are on top of the $38..

I am currently selling the phones..  Here is a link to one of them I am selling:

So, if you keep your eyes open while searching ebay, you can find some really great deals, usually in "lots".

So, when I do searches on eBay, I will go to a specific category, like camcorders, for instance:

Then, I do a search like "camcorder lot"

Then, I surf around and look for some that look like they "might be good".

THEN, the most IMPORTANT step, if I find a lot that looks nice, like this one here, I will then search eBay's history to see its value individually:

Then, I will do history searches on the models.  Take for instance the PV-GS19:

This search tells me that the camcorder is worth about $200 to $250.  All the "green" numbers are the auctions that sold.

I would go through the list of camcorders on the "Lot" auction above and then take each camcorder model number and do a history search on eBay..

Then, I would add up the total potential value.

Last, to figure out what I would bid, I would only bid maybe 1/4 of what it would sell for.  If the auction does not tell you if they all work, I would only bid 1/8 of what I could sell them all for, just in case half did not work..

So, its all probability and factoring in potential best and worst case scenerio to make sure you make the money no matter what happens..

That way, you always come out on top..

SMALL ACCESSORIES:

Examples: PDA, camcorder, car audio, guitar, etc accessories.  Such as power cords, small tweeter speakers, small speakers, batteries, etc..

They don't make you a ton of money, but often, you can get them for about 1/8th what you make when you sell them.

FOR INSTANCE:

I sell 350 dome tweeters.  I sell them for  $1.99 + $6.49 S&H.  That is basically $8.50 each.  They only cost about $1.80 to ship and package.  It only costs about $135 to buy 100 of them.

So, you have $1.35 + $1.80 invested in every sale.  Of course, you have eBay fees, but they are about $0.70 or so per sale.

So, the total cost completely, would be like $3.80 or so... Thats every fee imaginable, period..

You make $8.50 - $3.80 = $4.70 profit on each sale..

Not huge, of course, but if you sell a few a day, thats $15 bucks a day..

Sincerely
Tony

Hi Brian,

I know the solution to this problem.

Its an ebay confiruration issue and here is a workaround that works:

1. Go directly to Paypal.com and log in.
2. Click the "Send Money" tab, put in my email address billjohnstone1983@gmail.com.
3. Fill in the rest of the details from the auction and then click continue.
4. Review your payment and click the confirm send payment button.

Sincerely
Tony

Tony,
I keep trying to pay for the auction I won but for some reason it's not working... keeps saying Paypal is having a problem to try back later but I have been trying all day...  The wierd thing is I was able to make a payment to someone else for an ebay auction.  I don't understand.  Is your Ebay account or paypal account ok?
Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.  I can try and make a payment directly to your Paypal account if you give me the email address.  I will just referresnce the auction number and see if that works.
One more thing...  I see you have several auctions selling pretty much the same thing I just bought and there all different prices.  I guess you are trying to get a feel for the market but some are like $79... will someone who paid more get something extra or did they just overpay for the same service?
Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian,

Sorry for the late reply.  I do not coach from this email address.

First, I wanted to mention that this email account you wrote to is spammed unendlessly.  I currently have 14,000 emails to download for only 2 days time.

Second, I have an email address, in which if I coached you, that is totally separate from this email address.

The reason I have it is so you can write to me more personally, rather than getting stuck in the spam messages here.

The coaching email address is optasia_mail@yahoo.com.

REGARDING ONE YEAR OF COACHING:

Yes, actually, you can.  And on top of that, you could email me more than once a week.  And, I will tell you all that I know regarding any topic of interest to you that you ask about.

Regarding Canada and $150.  That is fair..  I have an auction up now for this that has the first bid at about $150 and the buy it now at $200..

Tony,
Thanks for taking the time to write me back.  OK, well that is pretty much what I was thinking about the digital products, etc...
My philosophy... learning from someone who is already successful at something you have interest in is definitely the right way to go.  The first day I joined the gym I spoted a couple of guys who had the body shape I was after, and no they weren't the biggest guys in the place.  Anyhow, I eventually made friends with one of the guys, who is actually one of my closest friends today... and we still train together.  His tips and pointers saved me so much time in achieving the results I wanted.  So basically I am pointing out how I am a believer in what you are offering.
I have been working online for a few years now but its always been more like a hobby.  This year I have seriously decided that I want to do this full time and I will become successful at it.  I have specific goals and I am on target.  I also realize I will get there faster with a little guidense.
Ok, I know time is money... so let me get down to it...
I am interested in your offer but just want to be clear about something.  You will offer support for one year?  I could email you once a week for help or advice on a topic and that wouldn't be a problem?
Selling digital products on the internet and on Ebay is what interests me...  my worry is that the market and especially Ebay is already over saturated.... don't you think so?
Alright, here's the deal.  I really don't think I will be able to take "full" advantage of the complete system you are offering... with living in Canada and all... I feel that $150 is fair... but wait I also have a piece of advice for you concerning your Ebay business.  This is specific to you... I came to your auction as an "average joe" and after spending a couple of minutes looking through your auctions, etc...  I said to myself... wow he is making a mistake here...  he needs to change something fast...its costing him money for sure.  Do you want to know what that is?   is it worth dropping the price of your auction by $50?  I think with the information I can provide you with will make that money back many times over..
Let me know what you think... and either way thank you for your time!!
Brian

HI.  I know a very good way you can get around this.. Actually, a couple ways..

1. Sell services, digital product (domain names, ebooks, etc), small product (mark as gift when sending, minimal taxes), etc.

2. Have a friend in America work for you for a percent of the profit.  His job would be to receive in new purchases and send them out when you sell them.  I actually have two people do this for me right now, so I know this works.  BUT, for you, the friend would be in the USA, so you can sell it from the USA to the USA, thus avoiding all the complications with duty, taxes..

3. Buy salvage at low prices, like 30% of wholesale and sell them in Canada.  Why would this work?  First, eBay USA, items such as camcorders and electronics sell for cheaper than they do in Canada and the UK.  So, you could buy them for lower prices in the USA, pay the duties and then when you sell in Canada, you will get higher prices..

I know this would likely work, as in the UK, often, the very same camcorder sells for twice as much as in the USA.  No joke..  I recall Canada is higher also, but I can't recall how much higher..

Those are off the top of my head.. Of course, we would get far deeper into specifics of how to do them if you bought..

Sincerely
Tony

Your ad seems pretty convincing... my only problem is I live in Canada and with duty and taxes I pay on bringing products in really complicate's things... also when I sell to the U.S. the customer will also have to pay duties and taxes when the products crosses the border again. I know my best bet is selling non tangiable items. My question to you is... can you still help me?
